The Little Mermaid

I knew I was going to be in for a special treat the moment Lily and I started messaging each other.  Lily and her family live in Colorado and were going to be vacationing in San Diego for about a week.  She wanted to use the opportunity and have a photo session during their stay.  As we started messaging I learned what an AWESOME family they are.  Not only are they super sweet but love adventure and tying new things.  Their daughter Iriah, describes herself as Athletic and Brave and boy, is she right!  She is a gymnast and plays sports.  She’s a Huge Soffie Dossi fan and we made a connection since I had just met Soffi on a photo session I helped out with.   I knew I wanted some dance pictures of her.  She was about to turn 10 and was going to have a mermaid theme party so we decided we would also do a mermaid session.  She insisted on getting wet despite the cold day and we made it happen.  Everything was going great until a big wave came and knocked her right off the rock.  The water went from being around our ankles to waist high!  Thankfully, Dad was close by and swooped her back up.  The adrenaline pumped through our blood for over an hour.  It was an incredible experience, one WE will never forget.  Love you Esai, Lilly and Iriah, and thank you for allowing me to be part of such an awesome adventure.  Until we meet again…XOXO
