I knew we would have an awesome time the moment I met Lindsey and Nicholas for a wedding consultation over beer and pretzels in San Diego, CA. Their first date was over coffee and it went so well that they spent over 5 hours talking at the coffee shop. The only reason it was a little over 5 hours was because he had to go to work! Nick literally left the coffee shop and went straight to work! 3 weeks after they met, he was deployed. They both knew it was love at first sight and waited for each other for 7 months. Once he came back, they dated and he proposed in Lake Tahoe, CA surrounded by family and friends. Now they’re planning their wedding in a beautiful horse ranch in Alpine, CA in April 2019. Lindsey loves the outdoors and asked if they could do their engagement session in the mountains. I loved the idea! After discussing locations, we agreed to go to Mount Laguna, a 1.5 hour drive east of San Diego. I let her know it was going to be super cold and windy and she quickly responded, “Sounds good, we’re up for the adventure”. “Awesome! If you’re in, I’m in!” is what I said. She also asked if she could bring her fur babies aka Golden Retrievers, Luke and Jynn. Omgoodness…OF COURSE! I love Golden Retrievers and was super excited to have them join our trip. They were the best puppies ever! I wanted to put my camera down and just play with them but had to contain myself and focus (I still look at these pictures and want to reach in and bring one to keep on my lap!). We hiked up Kwaaymii Point in 20 degree weather with a strong gust and Lindsey in a beautiful gown. They were brave enough to handle the cold, wind and high altitude! The area is surreal and although we couldn’t feel our hands or feet by the end of the session, we all agreed it was worth the trip and would do it again in a heartbeat! Thanks for being so brave. Can’t wait for your wedding where we’ll continue to hang out and capture more beautiful moments all day. Love!
